Hi All,
Can anyone recommend horse boots to wear out Autumn Hunting/Hunting.
I know many do not wear boots at all due to the risk of them rubbing/getting caught etc however I will not be jumping much (and not big hedges etc), horse is nearly 20 and accident prone.
I'm looking at XC boots but not sure which brand to go for, I'll be taping them on and won't be out all day but would like them to be secure and vented to prevent rubbing/overheating.
Any advice/recommendations appreciated :)
Thanks

Have hunted multiple times in LeMieux and Premier Equine XC boots, and neither one slipped or rubbed at any point. It is preferable to hunt without boots, but feel your pain with accident prone horse who gets over-excited and stands on himself :D

One of the main problems with boots can be the fact that they trap things next to the skin, so if you are going through a field that has been sprayed recently then the chemicals can react when trapped next to the horses skin. Someone I know ended up with a horse that was pretty much red raw not through rubbing per se but through getting fertiliser trapped between boot and horse.

To me the odd knock or cut is preferable to the damage that can be done when wearing boots for too long.
