What are peoples opinions? Been trying to sell my lorry for months, not really even many enquiries. Have reduced a couple of times.

I sold mine on Horsemart about 2 months ago. It had been on there for about 3 months and I had to reduce the price drastically but had enquiries from as far afield as south Wales (I'm in Cheshire) and had some time wasters as well. I made sure there were lots of clear photos of the outside, cab and the living and every time I went onto my computer I boosted the ad so it returned to the top of the listings. I could have done this every 2 or 3 hours or, if I was working on the computer, every 5 or 10 minutes!!! The person who eventually bought it came, looked at it, insured it, taxed it, paid me and drove it away. Job done. Good luck.

I’ve sold two 7.5t in the past 15 years and one 3.5t. Both bigger lorries took a couple of months to sell at around the 12k mark after being reduced, which imo was less than their value but I was struggling to get much interest. The 3.5t went for 18k the same day I advertised it. I would assume it’s because there are fewer people licensed to drive 7.5t now, not so long ago they were everywhere but it seems to mostly be trailers or 3.5t I see at events now.

I’ve been looking at lorries recently, 7.5 t are way better value to buy but you need space to park them, plus an additional license (DH seems to think they need to be checked every 6 months too? A moot point really as we wouldn’t be able to turn off our lane onto drive with one!)

I was selling mine in the spring after upgrading. It was for sale for a few months and I had sooo many timewasters. So many people that had a long list of wants too but not the budget to match. Mine wasn't an old box in comparison to others (2009) but had a fair bit of milage on it (which was nothing for a lorry) but that put a lot of people off.

In the end, I sold it to a friend for less money than I wanted really but it was hassle free for both of us!

I bought a 7.5 a few months ago after looking for a while. I ended up doubling my budget as everything at my original price point was pretty rubbish. A couple that I looked at are still for sale …
From a buyer’s point of view I wanted to see service history, proof that any MOT advisories had been fixed, no problems with the ramp or floor, and for the seller to be happy for an independent inspection. Going to see a lorry that’s >£25k (which is obviously not an enormous budget for a lorry but is still a substantial amount of cash) and it’s not been cleaned, snapped radiator grill, none of the services are working and little easy to fix things like a broken blind - it does make you wonder if sellers actually want to sell 🤷‍♀️

I sold my 7.5t this year and it took about a month.
I priced it very keenly as just wanted it moved on.

Unfortunately they are money pits and everyone knows that so don't want to pay a lot - unless you're at the luxury £60k+ models

I think the 5-6.5 tonne market is competitive. I cant park a 7.5tonne at home so need 5-6.5tonne. I can drive up to 7.5tonnes, and 3.5T isnt enough payload.

I just bought our first 7.5T and was looking for about a year to find something suitable! We had a list of requirements and hardly anything I saw ticked the boxes, until the one we got, which was about 4 hours away. My requirements were sleeping for 4, reasonably good living generally (bathroom, proper cooker if poss, spacious and not falling apart), no tack lockers in horse area, recently plated, preferably less than 20yo, tilt cab, and well looked after generally, and we couldn't spend more than about £23-24k. We got one, but we were lucky and had to wait. We didn't have more to spend, and didn't really want to compromise on any of those apart from perhaps the possibly the niceness of the living.

So I think it's just a question of people thinking very hard before spending that amount of money, and not wanting to invest so much if there are too many compromises. I have seen some on the market for 6 months or more in some cases, and some of them I look at and just think they are not competitively priced compared to similar lorries on offer. There is one at the moment priced around the £40k mark with almost nothing to differentiate it from several around £30k. Most of the time, things are only worth whatever people are willing to pay for them - I suppose until I found mine I could have been described as a buyer with 'a long list of wants without the budget to match' but then my seller has my cash in the bank and the ones that have been hanging around for 6 months are still getting shared everywhere with 'lovely box, can't understand why we've had no viewings' etc!

Sister is looking to sell her 14tn, its had a lot done on it since we got it last year, things have changed so it will not get full use. It has a nice basic living with cooker, shower etc.
Has a clean plating, had new tires include hubs etc.

Put it up for a decent lrive considering the work done and its age and nothing. Dealers offering stupid money for it 🤦🏼‍♀️
