My box has the two big springs, one either side of the ramp
When open the only way the ramp touches the ground is to put a breeze block on it

. When the springs are adjusted correctly the ramp feels very heavy to close.
I'm willing to spend a bit of money on this 'problem', so any ideas? I've seen some boxes have a single spring underneath in the centre of the ramp, are these any good?

Could be a number of different things, it may be the geometery or the wrong springs, if your doing them yourself please be really careful, the strength of these should not be underestimated. Are the springs new? and do they adjust (by means of a screw or similar). It sounds like they are not going over centre thats why you need the breeze block. My best suggestion is to get a professional Horsebox / coachbuilder have a look at it, have a look at horsebox worlds website for one in your area. Hope that helps.
