is it always best just to add the breakdown recovery option offered by the insurer or are their better options? shearwater quote £94 for recovery or £130 for recovery and homestart

I'm with SEIB for insurance and breakdown. I shopped around a bit for the breakdown but went with them in the end as it was competitively priced and simpler to have it all sorted in the one place.

I'm with shearwater and their quote was about £150 less than goign direct as they use a very good, reputable breakdown company. Whom I have used unfortunately on more than one occasion!

I did same as Remi's Mum with the SEIB breakdown option. Got a few quotes from insurance companies and brokers first and theirs came out the best. Also went for any driver over 25 in case of emergencies needing someone else to drive.

My quotes on renewal seemed high this year?? so I saved money by insuring with Anthony Evans and getting breakdown with Equity Star which is the breakdown most of the bigger insurers use.

We use SEIB, and they' ve been very good on the two occasions in ten years we've had to call on them. Sitting on the side of the M25 in the rush hour is no fun!
