horse branding

a silly question does anyone know how i can find what the branding is on my horse, he is a hafflinger, but not a reg.
the branding is on his right hind leg, it looks like a symbol with a s d under it, i think .

any help would be great

Surely if he is branded he must be registered somewhere? I don't know where to look though.
