Horse Broke It's Leg At Gatcombe?

Read on someone I knows FB that a chesnut horse broke it leg in the intermediate section? Presumably the horse was PTS but anyone know who it was?

ive heard it was french rider arthur dufforts horse and yes it was PTS

I was a the land rover (jump before) when it happend didn't catch the horse or riders name though, couldn't see a lot as the screens where up very quickly. I was just about to post and ask if anybody knew who it was and what the outcome was, but it wasn't looking to hopeful listening to people who have watched it.
I have a picture of him jumping the landrover jump just before it happend.

Such a shame At least it was over quickly and the horse didn't suffer Condolences (sp) to the rider

Awww bless. I was at Gatcombe today but didn't know a horse broke its leg . Atleast horse had a pain free death. R.I.P Roxanna. Hugs to rider x

I hate to say but the horse wasn't caught too quickly and though ambulance etc got there quickly it was still up for a little while. From where I was sitting not far away, the jockey saw a long one to the trakehner at the bottom of the hill, horse managed to peel its saddle & jockey off on the log and came down. Wasn't nice, poor pony

Really sorry to hear about Arthur's horse, Roxanne, he has been getting on so well will her this year. Not a good week for Andrew Nicholson's yard was one of his horses pull up very lame at Wilton last weekend and had to be taken back to the lorry by horse ambulance.

I was quite close by and saw the rider/horse take a long one over the trakkener. The horse just didn't take off particularly well and left its back legs behind and crashed straight into the jump. As the log was solid horse and rider went over and saddle came off with them. Very bad break just below the hock, the horse was trying to stand up and run and took a while for someone to stop him. But the horse ambulance, paramedics and event staff I think reacted very well and got sheets up around the horse and dealt with it all very quickly.

All the riders that followed were quite cautious and made sure they were quite close to the jump. It wasn't easy watching it after that happened.

i was there today heard nothing about it though, poor horse must have been awful for the rider!

It's not nice when this happens but as usual everybody at the event did a good job in extremely difficult circumstances.
