ive had my horse for about 9 months and she has been fine, out jumping and things, but in winter her workload has been cut loads and she is getting ride at weekends and in the week if shes lucky recently she was bucking go into canter a little bit, which i just ignored, but the other day i asked for canter and she comletley flipped out bucking and threw me off:eek:. today i walked to the menage on her but then got off to lunge, she was lazy in the walk but as i asked her to trot she started bucking in canter and wouldnt stop, please help i can only walk her at the moment and i just want the normal pony back:mad::(

it might just be that she is fresh due to the lack of work and the change in weather, mine is being a bit stupid he can be trotting perfectly normal and then throws a fit! he can also after landing decide to have a bronc  is your horse on any high energy feed or anything like that as that might affect her. if you could you probably want to get her ridden more during the week.

My mare has always bucked in the winter especially out hacking and used to always buck going into canter but only from dec - march, she is in medium work and out competing so only thing I can put it down to is more time spent in the stable and winter weather as the rest if the year she is fine. She has got better with age and I have tried putting her on calmers which do help a little she's not as exhubruent ! Magic didn't work but topspec calmer I've had good results with. I find if she is bucking its best just to ignore her sit tight and don't react then ride on as if nothing has happened otherwise she gets worse - might be worth getting your saddle checked too if she's only just started doing it and review what she's fed?
