It was FANTASTIC!!!!!
It really was the best camp we've ever done, and George totally blew us away in all respects!
He was good for me, very obedient and just what I needed after our last escapade XC, but he was so bold and brave for Mike. They've jumped everything! cantered up banks dropped off, one stride over a skinny, cantered into water, jumped in to water, jumped out and over a narrow one stride double. Jumped the middle size tyres I've always been scared of, in and out of the woods, the lot!!! :love: :love: I couldn't believe what I was seeing as we walked the BE course on one of the nights (with a talk from one of the trainers) and the fences Mike jumped were as big (some bigger) and as technical as the intro!!!
Mike was totally buzzing! He said he never thought he'd exceed what he did with Shellee last year, but this year George blew it away!
Show jumping he was wonderful too! The flatwork really proved itself and he was so much easier to turn and actually had gears in canter! He seems to have sussed out nice smooth flying changes all on his own too - most of the time
Who'd have thought that our big clumsy, baby could have done what he did!!! Last year, he just wasn't physically capable but this year he SO was!! :love:
The evenings were fab too
On Friday we all got ridiculously drunk, and ended up playing a "cereal box" game. You basically have to pick a box up with your teeth and each round they tear a few strips off. You can't put your hands or knees down. I surprised myself (seeing as I can't touch my toes!) but my friend Jane was one of the winners!! She managed to surpass the card board base of the box, and actually pick up a 2p piece!!!!
The hangover and sun during my SJ session were slightly regretted, but I rode through it
Totally fantastic weekend, and we're already planning our next!!
