Hi

Happy New Year to all.

I have a quick question I hope someone can answer.

Just been to 'do' horses (2, living out, rented field etc).

Discovered cheeky mare has got through the electric fence which surrounds chicken house (5 bantams) and chicken feed bin (wheat - 'pure' from farmer). Said neddy had decided that her gorgeous ad lib hay and Saracens nuts, chaff etc were too boring and knocked over the chickens wheat bin......

My question is, will a bit (she didn't seem to have munched much) of wheat harm her?? She looked fine and happily tucked into her tea.

Thanks

xxxxx

Its not that the wheat should directly do any harm, but more like how much she ate. Doesnt sound like a lot so should be fine IMO, but keep a eye on her for colic just in case. Naughty girl!

Phew, thanks!!

Don't think she had too much, just a couple of gob-fuls - the rest is spread round in the mud....

'Naughty' girl wasn't the first word that sprung into my mind... tee hee!!!

Thanks Magic - can stop worrying now!!!!!

she should be ok with the amount she has eaten, a friend had her horse on a yard and she didn't know but some kids kept giving it chicken food that was near its stable, ended up being PTS. dont know much about chicken food myself or what type it was they was giving it though.
