If anybody has Health problems with their horses, or in general, I would 100 percent recommend a man called Cooper Wilson. He did a phone reading on my mare and he came to our yard and did one. He was spot on with every single thing he said about her. When he did her reading at the yard he did not even look at her, he knew she doesn't like being out in the rain, and she needs her saddle looking at, she gets very cold (she has a medium weight on when it's 10 degrees!) he knew she was trying to bring my confidence back, he got everything right, I didn't believe in it at all but after having it done on my own horse, I will be having him also in the future!

I've heard of a few people like this...one woman came out to our yard and did a reading on a few horses. Owners were astounded tbh. I didn't get my boy looked at since she was a bit too pricey for me.

Next thing I heard there was another woman in England (I'm in NI) who did phone readings for nearly half the price. Have been meaning to look into it but haven't had a chance so far.

You think it is worth it? I'd love to know how they are managing to do this?!

Wow, your horse doesn't like being out in the rain! That applies to about 99% of UK horses. And her saddle needs looking at is always a safe thing to say. Helping you with your confidence would have been transparent from the way you spoke with him in the first instance. I'm sorry hun but it's all hokum and a good way to part trusting (and often desperate) owners from their hard-earned money.

I thought it was a scam too and my logical brain is telling me it is! Perhaps I'll share the stories from my yard?

One horse owner deliberately said nothing to this 'communicator'. After spending about an hour 'talking' to the horse (alone) mentioned an old, unknown injury, suggested a change of bit and discovered the horse's 'favourite' place...

The injury: even the current owner didn't know about this injury, nor had the vet picked up on it. It is a completely healed injury but apparently the horse remembers the pain. (all very suspicious I know). Current owner is in touch with breeders and rang them to ask about it. Scary times when they told her about a bad accident horsey had as a foal!

Change of bit: communicator mentioned horse disliking his new bit. No way of knowing the horse had a new bit. Owner changed back to new bit.

Favourite place: granted this could have been a bit of a fluke but tbh with so much (more than what im remembering here) talked about which was true this just tops it. Apparently horse 'told' communicator about his favourite place being where he was when he was young, before coming to current yard. Mentioned he visited it often with current owner and it was full of paths and trees and jumps. Horse was bred Newcastle (in NI) direction near Tollymore Forest.

There was another few horses done too. Must try to find out more from them. It seems like such a scam but how did communicator manage to figure all these things out?

Also, when I called him he told me my horses colour, height and that she had 4 white socks, that was from me saying "hello" because my mare was so easy to read !

I would not want to pay to be told my horse's height, colour or body markings! And I would like to think I would notice myself what my horse likes and dislikes and whether it is in pain or stressed. Sorry, even if these guys have 'special powers' I would still save my money for more useful things. Perhaps I have been around horses (and humans!) for too long to marvel at clever words. :)

I didn't pay for the phone reading actually :) obviously that isn't all he told me... And I do notice when she is stressed and in pain I already knew about her saddle and I know she doesn't like being out when it's really raining because she jumps out her field! Other people may not believe in it or want to pay for it but I do and I just wanted to let people know incase they was thinking of having it done.

If you want to believe in it then that's fine, but but it is not suitable to recommend people who may have...

Health problems with their horses

I had a read through the link there which was interesting and I understand fully the methods of 'mindreaders'.

However the 'communicator' who came to my yard specifically asked to be left alone with the horse because apparently the horses were less likely to 'talk' if the owner was standing nearby. A stranger could watch no problem, but not the owner. Last time I checked horses didn't talk or agree but this person still came out with facts.

Astounding and I would love to know the secret...Suppose I'll never figure it out unless I actually get it done and see the communicator in the flesh. I'll just wait till I have some spare cash...

Livvyx how much were you charged can I ask? I know the first one at my yard charged 70quid or so. The phonecall one charged 40 I think!

Have to agree with this. A young friend of mine on facebook was raving about animal communicators and how she would like to have her pony 'read' so I invited her to send me pictures of horses she knew, that I had never met, and without any further information and I would give her a reading on each one via facebook. Over 5 horses she reckoned I was 90% accurate about their likes and dislikes and issues...and that was just based on what I could see in a photo.

It isn't rocket science....

...or perhaps I am psychic and didn't know it:p

That's really interesting, the things he told me even over the phone was strange! My friend has had a horse since he was born and he is about 20 now, she has never been able to load him, on a lorry or a trailer, he said to her has this horse ever been to the horse of the year show and she said there's no way but he was adamant he had atleast been, she called her mum when she got in and it turns out, when they was on holiday when he was a foal, the owners of his dad looked after him for them, and they took the dad to horse of the year and took him along too in the lorry ! He didn't do anything but he went! I'm not too sure of the cost, on the phone he did my reading for free, and when he came out he charged 40 quid per horse, but we had about 10 horses booked, in the end he did 20 because people were so surprised!! I think it might go on how long he has to travel too etc, the phone reading was really good but was amazing in person!

You need to start doing it haha!! I don't know the fact he didnt see the horse did it for me, and I was so blunt because I didn't want too give anything away! He could just be very clever but either way I really enjoyed the experience and I didn't mean to push this on people I just wanted too say if people want to do this rather than get a rubbish reading off someone he is bang on

I think the secret is that they are very tuned in but in a different way to most ordinary people. Most people look at the problem logically and work their way through it for example as a vet would eliminating items and checking out others. For the good communicators it is instinctive.

I don't think it is for example much different than say dowsing. The average person would achieve nothing, the more experienced would get some results but the really experienced who was dowsing all the time and was just so tuned in seem incredible.

There are charlatain communicators and mind reading, owners body language etc all play a part. However some simply isn't. I watched the late Julie Dicker many times. Some things just couldn't be explained (and I wasn't paying her) She explained in general what she heard and felt when walking through a group of horses. What she said wasn't achieved by skillfull discussion with the owners. I watched her go up horses, there was no studying the matter, asking questions etc she immediately came out information and some of it was uncannily accurate.

Whenever I took my horse to the physio Julie came as well. I have no idea if she was acting as a healer or communicator or what. She didn't even have to touch the horse. The physio (qualified) would work on the horse with not that much improvement. Julie would then say "no he needs more there", the physio got back to work again and you could see improvement.

I watched her do this when the physio had simply run out of ideas to improve the problem. Julie was comminicating with the horse and the physio was astounded at what the horse via Julie was wanting. A lot of total rubbish to anyone thinking logically I would be the first to agree.

Unfortunately the fly in the ointment was that the horse crawled into the stable in a lot of pain, the physio had tried so many times before with little success. 20 minutes later Julie told me to trot him out. I told her she was crazy but off he went trotting around the field. Make of it what you will but the results were there.

BTW I didn't ask what colour he was, we could all see he was black.

A good friend of mine has recently used a local, communicator as her older dog was not right in herself although to all intents and purposes looked fine. Communicator told my friend certain things and told her to go to the vet. Sadly said dog turned out to have cancer and was PTS. Dog looked fine, eating etc, friend knew her dog and felt said dog was not right but nothing to pinpoint for the vet till after the conversation. Friend was not using the communicator instead of the vet but as someone who would help her first whe she had nothing specific to discuss.

For this to make any sense, if the horse 'told' him this, it would have to have an awareness that it went to the Horse of the Year show as a foal - which seems extremely unlikely to me!

A "very famous" one kept her horse at the livery yard up the road from us. She had been on tv and in mags etc, and a lot of people raved about her. She couldn't catch her own horse, or ride it - just led it around on a lungeline everywhere, and once was driving past when one of our ponies got out of a field. She stood there watching, as we chased it up and down the road trying to catch it, shouting advice while everyone else actually helped. When the pony skidded on some ice and fell over she said it was because the pony was unbalanced and had told her it needed its back doing. I had to send her away before I murdered her! Her clients (and we had one as DIY on our yard at the time) were all very nervous and usually over-horsed, and she prayed on their insecurities. I was in the next stable once when she did a reading, and I've seen less "fishing" in the Angler's Times!

So no, I'm not a convert, and would suggest that anyone with veterinary issues with their horse contacts a good vet!

Yes of course get a vet!! I am just saying if the vets don't come up with anything? He told us our horse has arthritis in his back leg and we took him to the vet for x rays and he does. Sorry I see noW the original post came out wrong haha!

I have used one person several times. Came out with very specific areas in which the horse was hurting. She got all of these exactly right. So probably not all hocus pocus.

Yes, did she touch the place they was hurting and they reacted to it?

Probably took a gamble on injury most horses have had one. Again with bit and the fact like the horse liked a place with trees, jumps and path could be anyway???

I'm thinking about getting this done, not for physical issues but mental ones, I know tb's are not the most sane breed but it would be interesting. £40 would put me off tho! Especially if they don't cure the issues!

I was very impressed with the lady that we had to the yard Sara Coppin. http://www.soul2soul.me/

I've heard very good things about this lady. My physio (who is totally no nonsense, never met anyone more no nonsense than my physio lol) rates her and even lectured with her at one point.

I've known a few people have this lady out and she's known things there's no way she should've known - or even could've found out.

unbelievable lady she was so accurate with my present horse's reading, she told me about the black cat Tiddles who had come to greet me in my stable and who passed on at the age of 19 some 20 + years ago , along with my dog Gemma who had died two or three years previously. She mentioned my five spirit horses including the horse who was sorry he didn't get to say goodbye, but he had to leave suddenly as he had a tightening in his chest (he died of a heart attack and I loved him very much) and my last horse who had wobbly legs (wobblers syndrome). Very very accurate, and very interesting. She had to stop in the end as I got so distraught.
