Morning All-
I am looking for some advice as my horse has developed a cough - first heard on Monday. He has a "dry" sounding cough, and over a two hour period I heard him cough 5 times - once in the stable and 4 times when I took him for a walk. Apart from the cough - he is really well within himself, no discharge, no signs of being unwell, he was really marching when walking out with ears forward. This is the first summer he has lived out and he has gotten wet at night sometimes due to the unpredicable weather we have had. He has not been to any comps for over two weeks and no other horse on the yard is coughing or has been previously.
At the moment, I suspected he has a chill from being caught out in the rain and I am keeping him dry, just giving him a walk a day (he likes to do something) and giving him a small warm feed at nights. I wanted to check to see if it could be anything else, is there anything else I can do to get rid of it? I am going to call the vet if it shows no sign of going, the only reason I havent called him already is my horse is otherwise well and I dont want to be over reacting!
thanks in advance
