Hi all

Just got an email from H&C saying they’re changing their plans today (so much for a heads up!).

Plan used to be £5.99 a month and you could cancel anytime. It’s now £6.99 for 12 months (no cancellation) or £149.99 per year if you want to download show clips. Or there’s a pay as you go monthly flat fee of £7.99 (under which you don’t have access to everything like you used to).

Not sure I can justify having it anymore. I like to delete it when I have seen everything interesting and there’s nowhere near enough new series to justify keeping it for a year. Disappointing to see them putting prices up when they can’t even fix their streaming on apps/TV. You can’t even see a description of a show on fire tv and you can’t skip through a video on iOS. Bit of a joke!!

*Edited by admin to add clarification*

The pricing change is only for new H&C subscribers/plans.

Well they have just lost a potential customer. I was thinking of subscribing to watch All Stars and see if there was anything else I fancied, but I definitely won't now

I doubt I’ll stay with them after this. I’ve messaged them to ask if it is absolutely a 12 month commitment. Not going to pay £7 a month for H&C when you could have Disney plus instead, which has heaps more and an app that works.

If you pay 12months upfront then it is 4.99 a month.

This is certainly better, but myself and many others don’t particularly want to commit to 12 months of H&C - you’d easily run out of things to watch within 6 months. Just seems greedy. I wouldn’t mind if they were giving us more shows & a better service.

Thanks for the info. I subscribed this summer just to watch the eventing, probably won't bother next year, I haven't watched anything else on there so probably won’t be worth it to me. With the eventing there was an awful lot shots of the crowd/sky/out of focus/jumps with no competitors..........

Another one who was planning to sign up when I'm off over Christmas and would probably have kept it on if I enjoyed it, but I probably wont bother now.

Apparently they will honour prior plans if you’re still on them, so don’t cancel unless you’d like to switch to a new plan at a later date. Fingers crossed I can stay on my current one for a while!

Thanks for the heads up.

I used to hop onto and hop off the H&C monthly subscription service quite regularly. I only used it (under sufferance, as the delivery is so bad) to watch the major eventing fixtures. However, last time I went to hop off a few weeks ago I had a nightmare, as I couldn't leave without answering multiple questions about why I was leaving and it demanding that I make suggestions how the coverage could be improved. Nothing I wrote seemed to be sufficient, and I ended up telling them to Go Feck Off.

My subscription was eventually cancelled, but they still took the next monthly payment anyway ?.

Avoid, avoid.
