I have been trying to cancel my subscription for the last 6 months. Things are hard financially, I never watch it.

Every month they take payment and I log in to cancel it.

I was signed up a few years ago, and I cancelled without having this issue.

I have now contacted them to see what the problem is.

Has anyone else had this experience?

It's really hard to cancel I found! I really only ever watch the All stars, so need to actually cancel my free trial b4 it ends!

I was somehow accidentally signed up twice for 6 months. Subs came out at different times of the month so I didn't notice. It took them 3 months to stop the additional subscription, another extra round to stop BOTH and then when I asked that they refund one of the subs (never used, same account info) they refused as it might not have been me, even though they had already accepted it was me when they cancelled lol

Clown show. I'd like to watch all stars but I'll suffer without as they're never getting a penny off me ever again.

Oh you’ve reminded me of an argument i had with them when I paid twice in one month - one to ‘Horse and Country TV’ and one to ‘Horse & Country TV’…. but they could only find one transaction so refused to refund me.

Hmm. Yes, very familiar. At a certain point it doesn't matter if it's incompetence or malice, does it.

I did the same signed up for a free trial and forgot to cancel, when I finally realised I found out it was an annual subscription charged monthly…so I couldn’t cancel until the year was up 🤦‍♀️ They told me at the time they’d cancelled it so it won’t renew after the year … which ends this month so hoping it doesn’t pop up again!!

ETA I don’t know how I spoke to them because I’ve just checked my emails and they’re not there … must have been a chat function in which case I have no proof I cancelled with anyone aaaa what an idiot!

Can you not cancel whatever method you're using to pay it?
I'm pretty sure this is what I ended up doing, but I made sure and got email confirmation from their customer service that they were telling me to do that, or they could flag it as non payment debt or something and f up your credit. Maybe that was too paranoid of me but at that point I was losing my mind about the whole thing 😂

I had this with Harry Hall. I emailed, I phoned, I tried to log in and cancel but (oddly!) every time I clicked to cancel subscription i got logged out and then my password was incorrect and I couldnt log back in.
Eventually I did have to cancel my card which was a complete pita but its done now and never again will i sign up with HH or by the sounds of it Horse and Country!

You better be drafting an email right this minute Boughtabay!! Looking through my own emails, I had to email the support account a few times about tickets I raised on the online form that got ignored.

Do a chargeback with your bank and you will get the money back

Just been and checked my account and it actually came up as cancelled as of today! So whoever I spoke to did wha they said they would - phew!

Also go to one of the credit check agencies and make sure they have not registered an “unpaid direct debit”..if they have put up the reason why….

Well they replied. Apparently I have to keep paying until next May!

I absolutely would have signed up if I’d known I was being conned into a whole year, but I guess that’s how they work. I’ll never be using them again after this! Things are so tight for me at the moment that this makes a real difference.

If you've been trying to cancel for 6 months, but you have another 6 months on the contract, this does seem like it might be worth pushing back on, depending on the renewal date and when you first tried to cancel. Especially if you've already paid a couple of years subs!!

This happened to me but thankfully I noticed and managed to get them to cancel one.

Things were tight and I had no idea it was an annual subscription so I was annoyed when I found out especially as I'm sure it said mo they and cancel anytime. I will never pay for horse and country TV again.
