Im looking for a horse for my partner. Basically anything above 15.2. Doesnt need to be a world beater or win in a beauty contest.
He started riding last year and wants to get his own horse. Normally Id be against this sort of thing but he absolutely LOVES horses and adores my mare, plus his riding is coming on SO much he can do pretty much everything now, and whilst he still has a lot to learn which Ive told him takes YEARS he has me (Im obv very experienced bought 3 horses before so I can advise him where to start with all that) to help him along the way.
Budget is about 2.5k so literally doesnt have to be anything outstanding just something sane that he can have a bit of fun on, take for some hacks and pop over a jump on. I think an ID type might be good for him as he weighs about 13 stone and is obviously still a novice. Maybe a shire cross? Colour and sex is really unimportant.
Have tried all the usual websites and the same horses just seem to come up time and time again. Wondered if anyone knew of any good dealers in the Kent/Essex area that you could recommend? Ive told him it might be a good idea to visit a couple dealers yards so he can see a variety of different horses all in one place. Ive just moved to the area so not too sure about whats about?
Thanks in advance guys.
