Horse death at the South Oxfordshire Sponsored Ride today?

Just wondered if anyone knew what happened? Heard as we were leaving that a horse fatality had occurred. Heartfelt sympathy to anyone connected, it was such a beautiful day for what is always a fantastically well organized ride over lovely countryside, seems tragic for someone's day to have ended that way

It sounded like a lovely event - a few people from our yard took part.

That Is so sad, no one should have to go home without their special friend, my heart goes out to them,deepest sympathy.

Almost our whole yard went - 7 of 9 owners! Was a great day out but yes, tragic for some poor soul.

Believed to have had a heart attack, was a fairly elderly horse, huge symptathy though! X

The horse just collasped and died! Rider was shaken, upset but not hurt. The horse went very quickly.

Oh how sad, was a lovely ride, fairly testing in the heat though even for the younger horses. Thoughts are with them x

Very sorry for owner must have been very shocking but as an Owner of a couple of golden oldies myself I hope mine have the good fortune to go like that, suddenly with no pain doing a job they love.
