Horse dies at Cornbury Horse Trials

It was the last fence on the course which had a very kind sloping profile so difficult know why they had a rotational fall.

Did you see it? I don't think it says it was rotational, just that the horse hit it and then fell on landing. Leaving a leg could inflict enough damage to PTS.

Is Cornbury not new again this season? Not good for the team if so.

Rider is in hospital having been landed on. XC course was held for 40 minutes. Rotational comes from an involved source. Yes it was the first running of a new event there, the whole event is not in the same area as the old one was but on the Finstock side of the park. International dressage was in front of the house. The SJ and XC were live streamed and I understand available to view post event. It was being watched all over the world with Spencer commentating along with Sarah Kellard and Ben King (Kitty's husband).

Tragic for Direct Cassino, Sabu and the whole team ?

They had over nearly 200 horses running each if the 3 days I think it was, I watched on live stream, very sad for all connections
