My mare is just doing in-hand walking as part of rehab at the moment but is super alert and any noises seem to send her into a panic.

Any recommended ear plus / muffs I could try? Doesn't matter if they arent competition legal since competitions are a way off at the moment.

thanks

I've only used cotton wool in the past for clipping but if I had need for them more frequently I think I'd buy some of those 'pomms' or the sheepskin showing ones as always worry about leaving bits stuck in there.

Thanks ideas to start with - havent got foam rubber to hand, but a friend suggested cotton wool sewn into a bit of old tights - sounds good! Then at least I know if she will tolerate something in her ears.

My dad's ex racer used to have a hood with ear plugs in that she used to wear when training. She didn't really like going through the underpass in Newmarket when lorries where driving over it! It's not a hood with blinkers, just the one with the eye holes then it has covered ears with some sort of ear plug in.

You can buy fly veils with neoprene ears, i bought one from ebay for £20 but there are other more expensive ones. Sadly my boy is xfull in everything so didnt fit. But my showjump trainer stole them so will ask how he got on :)
