Horse ear problem

Hi My pony had an ear infection last summer that went after ear drops from the vet, this year it came back again so got the ear drops from vets but it hasn’t gone, vet came out again and gave her ear cleaner and a gel to use but still it hasn’t gone. She has dark grey flakes in the ear, that are dry, this is inside the ear and down as far as I can see, it’s very dry and hard that must feel horrid, but at first it was a bit gooey and was falling out as she rubbed it, she’s not rubbing it as much as she was but still irritating her at times. It doesn’t look at all good but vet dont really know what it is or what to do. If any one has had anything like this, what did you do,use to help? I will try and get some photos if I can Thanks

Look up ear plaque and see if that is like what your horse has.

Hi I have and it’s not that, I can’t find anything like it but I’m sure someone must have seen it before (I hope!) but the vet dont know what else to try, they said that it has 2 different bacterias, 1 that is easy to get rid of but the other is the one their not sure of. I couldn’t get a picture of her ear but I put some cleaner in and this is what was on the cotton wool. a couple of months ago she had big lumps falling out but now it’s all stuck around the inside of her ear, low down.
