Horse eating poo

My friend's mare has been seen eating poo, now we are guessing she is lacking in something but what?

She has Lo-Cal balancer as part of her feed so surely it's not vits and mins
Any idea's please

My horse did this once. I was told to put a salt lick in his stable and field. This solved the problem. Yes I think they are lacking in a mineral.

Try giving her a salt lick or she could be in need of friend gut bacteria. Might be worth starting her on a short course of pro and prebiotics to be on the safe side.

if she gets salt vits and minerals it is probally lacking in a trace element or ammio acids get her some seaweed that has every thing in it!

Eating Poo can also be a steriotypic behaviour, if she is doing it in the stable may be down to stress.
