Could I say a quick thank you to anyone who was driving on the A32 this morning that stopped and waited patiently whilst friend & I both ended up going the wrong way down the road because of a dodgy bit of raised tarmac with a sprayed x on it

I never want to be going head first into oncoming traffic ever again

The look on the driver's face that I was heading towards was priceless. Mine probably read something more along the lines of "oh ****"

Note to self: don't worry about the big, man eating red & white plastic road works. It's the spray paint and a darker bit of tarmac that we should have thought was horse eating *rolls eyes again*.

Glad it all ended happily. Mine this morning went happily past yapping dogs, bikes, runners and articulated lorries, but drew the line at a bit of earth on the road that a rabbit had thrown out of its burrow.... 180 degree turn in 100th of a second!!

I read your post title as horse... eating tarmac. I thought you were going to ask for advice on how to cure him/her of this disgusting habit!

Was very curious to see what people were going to advise - lol!

Anyway, glad to hear you made it through your ordeal safe and sound!

Esp since I have a yearling who's new favorite game, when stopped on walks out, is to lick the tarmac

Ah yes I know this one - have had the spin when we came across a slightly darker patch of tarmac. Not fun. Also the slow signs painted on the roads and drain covers used to send our old TB across to the other side of the road in a nanosecond but he was quite happy to go past tractors, lorrys etc.
