One of my mini Shets can demolish a Lick It within a couple of hours. I was very concerned when it first happened but she was none the worse for her piggery. I just made sure she had plenty of water. Since then I've limited her access and she never gets a whole one!!
Mine used to have one of the original Likits, molasses and cereal type, they took them off the market as some horses were scoffing big bits and colicking!
He scoffs the sugar ones like he's starving too! (the cherry ones are lovely though, mmmmm)
Had same problem as everyone else - gone within half an hour so now the two boys get those red natural rock salt licks on a rope they seem to like them and often use them after eating their hard feed but dont over do it the large ones last about 3 months. I did treat them to a likit bar once - the type you snap pieces off of, but then figured might as well feed sugar lumps if I wanted to do that!
my friends horse eats his in about 10 mins or less!
mine learnt to lick it when i held it for him, then i went and got him a likit tongue twister. put one in there and it was gone in the morning, with teeth marks all over the ball. he now gets one every now and again!
