Looking to buy a cob youngster (2yr old ideally) and thought horse acution/fairs would a good place to look. Need to be in scotland however.

I've tried trawling google for auctions but come up with nothing. Someone mentioned to look at the Scottish farmer but still didn't see any. I suspect these types of auction are well advertised.

Could any one who knows of any up coming horse sales (of the non-posh warmblood variety) in the top half of britain let me know, thanks.

Unfortunately, Appleby fair was in June.

There is a coloured 2 year old gelding for same near me, he is stunning and I am very very tempted, he was advertised in the June copy of Scottish and Northern Equestrian.

I think the Stirling sales stopped a while back, or perhaps they only have the stallion show now at the beginning of the season.
I used to love going to Stirling for the tack sales! Never missed it!

What, none at all?

Appleby would have been perfect, but too late now.

hb2 -do you know if he's still for sale? How much was she wanting for him?

I would specifically like a 2yr old if possible - one on the main bonuses of buying a youngster is to keep a friends 2yr old company - he'd love a friend to play with. A yearling would be ok, but then that's 2 years before I can do anything with it. I'm not THAT patient.

My poor horse previously went through sterling sales and I have promised him never again.

The youngster is still in the field with his mum and half brother. I go past every day and dream .... he is gorgeous.

Stunning coloured cob

'15 h 3 year old unspoilt gelding, chaps reg, loads well, good with farrier, vax up to date, a real character with lots of presence (I have to agree with the presence), a real character. £3,000.'

I think he is over priced given the current market and I have seen him and his mum since the day he was born and I would love for him to go to a good home.

If you are interested, I can PM the contact details. I kept the magazine because his picture is in it. Its July's issue.

Did you get sorted with a young cob, if not I have a lovely looking Irish cob who should make 14.3hh/15hh. He has been in the field to mature and is 2yrs old. Great for a winter project!

I did

I do know someone who is intersted in a nicely marked coloured HW cob baby though. How heavy, what colour, how much etc? (I would LOVE another but just can't affford one. Yet. )
