Horse feels a bit flat!

Didn't want to get vet out straight away but past few weeks my mare has not been her usual perky self. Nothing specific and its not every time I ride but often just not as enthusistic as usual in her ridden work and seems to tire bit quicker than she did. Saddle has only just been checked etc..no sign of any pain just as I said a bit flat in her ridden work. Not lame, no snotty nose or cough, looks well. Only thing I noticed yesterday was that her gums seemed slightly paler than usual.
Has anyone got any suggestions. I wondered if she may have been fighting a virus and depleted her energy reserves. Got some NAF EnerG which has high levels of iron in it apparently.
Was going to see how she did on that over next 2/3 weeks then call vet in. Has anyone got any other suggestions?

If theres nothing obvious going on that you can see then I would call your vet and get some bloods taken to check for any virus that may be lurking. Sounds like a horse at our yard last year and he had a virus and it took some time to get over. Rest was one of the main things in his recovery and repeat bloods had to be taken.
 
At my old yard there were a few like that, after a blood test turned out they had high liver counts and some sort of virus that had attacked the liver. Best to be on the safe side and have bloods done, it will hopefully give you an idea how to treat best.

I seem to remember my horse going through the same this time last year. I think it has to do with the changing daylight hours the increasing cold and the time of year.
