Okay so yesterday my miniature shetland fell over when I was lunging him over a pole. HE was meant to be doing it in canter but decided to bolt off and slipped after the jump because he had to turn. I'm not sure exactly how he landed, because he was up in a flash. I think he sort of landed on his stomach - Maybe?! With his back legs behind him and his front legs kneeling on the floor. He doesn't have a limp but he seems to be walking and trotting quite gingerly. He doesn't have any swelling and his legs aren't hot. I've felt around all of his legs and picked them up and he doesn't mind. I noticed that his back left leg sometimes makes a clicking noise when he turns to itch his belly but his legs have often clicked for no reason. Do you think he will be alright or do I need to call the vet? He hasn't layed down at all and he's eating fine :)

If he was mine I would give him a few days off in the field, whilst keeping a close eye. Then pop him back on the lunge in a few days time and re-assess re the vet then.

Thanks L&M, that's what he'll be having. He isn't exercised much due to having a pony to ride and school but he often gets a bit hot headed when I exercise him and just wants to GOOOO
