Hi, have been experimenting with/researching calmers to see if i can take the edge off my spooky horse, and thought I had short listed this one to try, saw it, bought it, got home and realised one of the main ingredients is sugar which has kind of thrown me a bit😳
Anyway I'm wondering if anyone has used it and if you found it to be any good?

I tried it but made no difference to mine.

However I have just started him on Equifeast's 'cool, calm and collected' and it is working well - it seems to help him with his concentration, and although he still has 'anxious' moments, he calms down a lot quicker.

I've used it for over a year and it seems to work really well and I've been through a few calmers. I've also noticed my horse doesn't rub his teeth along the inside of his door and on his walls anymore and it is supposed to have tummy soothing effects too. I hadn't noticed it had sugar in it though. However given the dosage compared to the amount of sugar in hay and grass I would think it is negligible.

i use it, there is a noticeable difference in my boys concentration and i have tried many others in the last year. of course it could just be that hes growing up at last but scared to stop using it in case im wrong

I have known it work with 3 horses. Seems to calm them from the inside out so helps with general anxiety. Made a very sharp event horse not jump out of his skin when you patted him

Hi,
thanks everyone. It would take me a week to go into detail about my boy but he's basically a worrier, and copes for so long but then it all gets too much and he lets it out by spooking. My instructor and I are working on me trying to ride consistently, confidently and quietly and not reacting to him, which is working, but I had a bad fall a while ago and struggle to cope when he gets spooky.
He is improving and the constant teeth grinding when ridden (and often when not being ridden) has mostly gone now, so i think that's a good sign.
Magic powder works okay but doesn't seem to mix in well with feed so I felt I was wasting the bits left in his feed bucket every time, and it's not cheap.
Equine America (can't remember the name, tub lasts 6months, you know the one I mean) made no difference.
Magic liquid version made no difference to him at all.
Blue Chip Karma works okay.

He doesn't show any symptoms of his stomach being an issue other than ears back when I groom his sides so I've no reason to think anything is wrong with him, but with him being a worrier I wondered if I should look at calming him from the inside out which is why I looked into the "Relax Me" supplement.
(Don't know if this is relevant but he does around 3 full sets of droppings every time he is ridden, not sloppy or anything but just excessive in my experience!)
I was thinking of ringing Equifeast, but saw this in the feed merchants first so thought I'd give it a go.

Again thanks for these replies, keep em coming!!!😄😄😄

The teeth grinding has stopped, the ears back but no other reaction when I groom his sides is barely significant and the spooking is only with me because I'm not confident enough. Hence I'm just after something to take the edge off him to help me to get him to concentrate more and listen to me when riding, he is slowly getting better (we both are) but I struggle with confidence when he gets silly!
