Hi, am trialling Neem Oil products from Pro Equine in Scotland, give Fiona a ring, tell her where you are, she is in Scotland and well used to dealing with midges and mossies.
She has just posted Pure Neem Oil to me.
See if you can read the thread on here about Avon skin so soft
and yes, they are horrendous, a new variety for each week it seems!
The large green eyed monsters are around right now, horses hate them.
Fly sprays just dont do it for my mares.
Buy a fly blanket from Decathlon, 50 euros and their fly masks are good too.
Alter your ride times to first thing,

I am going to order some of the Avon skin so soft ;-) His fly rug arrived to day must say he looks like one of the horses from renta ghost in the fly mask.
Better that than being bitten to death by the dreaded French flies !

After 7 years of having horses here in France, I have to say that in years and years of keeping horses in the uk, flies are so much worse here, and not just flies, the sheer number of variants throughout the year.
Hope you got a good deal on the Avon, remember to spray yourself too!
