any one know any sprays or other ways to stop horse flies attacking? They seem to be immune to all fly sprays! Driving me and my sensitive skinned boys crazy!!

Oh god the one I have is actually AMAZING! It absolutely stinks vile! Not like normal fly spray at all. Its about £11, but well worth it! It is very very strong. Im trying to think of the name, will come to me in a second

ive been usin equine america horse spray on both of mine, (the thoroughbred is very sensitive to fly bites) + it seems to be workin well for both of them + it puts a great shine on the coat, its not horribly expensive either, bout £10 for 1ltr.

In order to work effectively a fly repellent must contain Deet. So basically, anything with that ingrediant should help.

DEET is what they usein Jungle Formulas isnt it? how can it be allowed for humans and be still carcinogenic??
I use it on my boys and it works great..

Yup I'm pretty sure jungle formula is deet and it's brilliant but just recently a friend told me that deet is carcinogenic and that's why you find fly sprays advertising as deet free.

Just found this on a website

"Further, DEET has been classified as an EPA Group D carcinogen (not classifiable as a human carcinogen)....."

Could explain why it's ok for us?
