Hiya, this questions most likely been asked 100 time but wanted to see everyone option on a horse foaming at the mouth, what do you think it means and if it’s good or bad?
Picture of my own horse who does slight foam at the mouth for an example I guess!
Thanks

Can't see your picture. But in general light foam is fine IMO, mine tend to do it when they are gently mouthing the bit and happy and relaxed in the contact. Excessive froth can be a sign of discomfort, tension or the horse being unable to swallow properly (e.g. noseband too tight).

Agree with Milliepops. Would not like excessive drool or foam, but equally would not like a dry mouth.

A smidge of lipstick in the corners is what mine has, and I am happy with that. Once a bot is in there is not a perfect seal, so I expect some froth in the corners.

Agree with this, it can also be a sign of ulcers if they are frothing too much.

also can be a sign of a bit being too big in a fleshy mouth. I always thought one of mind did a lovely foam till I went to a bitting clinic!
