horse friendly beaches close to Gloucestershire

as the title really
looking to take my steed to the beach, Weston-super-mare is closest (i think) but I have no idea if you are allowed to take your horse or where to find this out?!

Have taken horse to Weston - but it was outside of the holiday season. Best to ring the Council (North Somerset) and check when you're allowed. Also check the tide times - believe it or not the tide does sometimes come in at Weston (local joke)

apologies if i seem thick...are you serious?!!! Iv only been once and the tide was MILES away!! lol!! if i ring up and ask about the tide I imagine someone howling with laughter at the other end of the phone?!!

Brean sands is great - when I lived down that way it was the best place for a blast when everywhere was frozen solid!
