Horse friendly beaches near Gloucester

I live in Gloucester and want to take my ID to the beach for a blast, wondering which would be closest? And be good to give her a run on ?

I've never been but think Brean sands (sp) would be the closest that allows horses.

Brean is good for riding. I think they have restricted the time of year you can ride now, but type 'horse riding Brean' into Google and all the info comes up.
