horse getting lumps

hi every winter my horse seems to develop lumps was wondering if anyones elses horses did this and hw they prevent them and what they put on them?

I have a friend whose horse does this when she is fed carrots.

Depends on the type of lump,but if it happens every winter check that its not due to over rugging. If your horse feels 'warm and toasty' under his rugs, then he could be too hot.

Also do you change feed/bedding in winter? Could maybe an allergic reaction but heat bumps quite likely.

thanks guys i dont change feed and bedding in winter and dont over rug him as i thought heat bumps at first and i fully clipped him incase it was heat bumps

I have one horse who can't have any feed with maize in as it brings him out in lumps. Horse and pony nuts for him.
