Horse getting up back end first

Has anyone had a horse regularly get up back end first? He can get up front end first but often he doesn't.
Is it a problem?

Yes. I have one who does this most of the time. He spent his young years living with cattle and I always presumed he learnt it from them. Has never done him any harm ;-)

Aw bless him! I'm hoping that it's just a strange little habit and doesn't indicate that he's not comfortable somewhere.

BUT I should probably add that he has recently been diagnosed with a spinal problem.... I don't know if the two are connected. I've not seen him get up since he's had treatment but you've reminded me to look.....
