Hi
This last batch of AlfaA looked different and Saf has totally refused to eat it and it has taken me nearly a week to get her eating anything

She is now eating her Staypower again but that is all, dam mare

Yesterday I bought her Redigrass, seems to like it but feeding it separate to the Staypower, she is in med work prior to the event season, I am just hoping she is getting enough energy

Has anyone else had a problem with AlfaA and can I replace it with redigrass???

Thanks

Can definitely replace the apha A with readigrass and mix it with hard feed. Needs to be well damped. I love readigrass, it has such a lovely smell, and mine all love it. Supposed to have the same energy as a comp mix (but slow release fibre obviously) so very good feed to use (if Saf likes it).
Good luck.

Well I thought my mare was mega fussy, but she loves readigrass. She is getting better though, as her calmer (the global herbs one) smells really strongly of curry, and she eats it OK!!!

Good luck with the readigrass, i think it is much better than alfa a.

This is interesting that you say the alfa has changed. I noticed the same thing, but it seems to correspond to them changing the bag I think. The bag used to have hole puncture sized holes punched in it top & bottom (and I think down the sides) and the bag is now slightly different in feel & only has a row of tiny needle sized perforations at the top (& possibly bottom). Since this has changed, I think the alfa looks different too & although mine is still eating it, he is less keen (although my car is cleaner as it does not come out of the bag during transortation!

). Be interested to know if anyone else has found the same.

Im glad I read this post because I thought I had just bought a dodgey bag! My most recent bag of Alpha - A looked so different to normal, my horse is not that keen on it and neither am I it appears to be really dusty and makes me cough that alone my horse. I hope they are not going to continue to make it this way.

I've had the same problem with the last bag of Hi Fi Senior I bought - seemed kind of dry and bitty. It was in some "temporary packaging" though - just a white bag with a label stuck on. I'm hoping the next bag I buy will be back to normal, otherwise I'll be switching onto Readigrass/Graze on, or something.

yep - my horse and my friends horse both won't eat Alfa A anymore.!! It seems to be really dry now. We have both changed to Marksway showshine cherry chaf and they love it!
