The horse has had a series on infections starting with his teeth. The teeth have been dealt with so he had filled legs and a filled sheath. These have been dealt with now he has the snots. No raised temperature, no loss of appetite just a bit under the weather and the snots, both nostrils. He's on antibiotics which seemed to loosen the discharge which then made him cough.
Are all these things connected?

I've got some in liquid form but I don't know whether to feed alongside antibiotics.
He's only 4 and had a rough time recently I've just moved yards because he wasn't happy and the original problem (legs and sheath) started there.

Could he/she have had an infected tooth root?/Sinusitis? - If it were one of mine I would continue with the Antibiotics and if theres still no improvement I would definately call the Vet again and get them to investigate further. I believe it may be connected to the teeth though.

What colour is the discharge? If it is white then it's likely to be a dust allergy and I'd look into soaking hay or better still feeding haylage. My horse coughs and has snots even on soaked hay, fine on haylage.

i'd get someone to look at his teeth again! my friends mare had a real snotty nose after having a tooth out. vet said it had released the pressure that was holding all the rubbish in her sinuses.

he may have a low grade infection thats just traveling about a bit. keep on with the antibiotics, and if in doubt ask the vet!
