Hi all,
My horse suffers from tying up so is out 6-7 hours a day on a sparce paddock and has grazing muzzle on every other day. In at night with soaked hay.
We did have a problem with her stuffing herself on her straw bed, but I've been spraying it with a cribox solution and mixing in a bale of shavings and it seems to have calmed down quite a bit.
But, for quite a while now (since before I started spraying the bed and mixing in the shavings) for about the first 15 mins ish of riding she kind of groans and grunts....anyone got any ideas about this? She is always rested in the stable when bought in for approx 45 mins before riding.
She's pooing normally, even tho they are huuuuge! shows no signs of colic in any shape or form..in fact seems perfectly normal apart from being a bit lazier than normal and the groaning...
She's currently only on chaff and pink powder twice a day, but I phoned some feed companies and am going to put her on Saracen's Releve and have her hay ration split into 2 haynets - 1 soaked and 1 not soaked.
Any ideas welcome!
