Now there is a European shortage - what are you being charged? We are having to pay £9 a bale and only one shop has any! Anyone else getting it cheaper in Wiltshire?
if its all u use and horsehage can't make anymore then it is to me a crisis (But obviously I'm using that word lightly so don't think I'm taking this as a life or death matter.....)
I'd shop around and I reckon you will still find some. I bought 8 x bales last week and had no problem (Kent) although they were £7.40 each delivered which is a bit pricy.
I picked up a few from Efeed last week. They've got a message up saying that there isn't anymore Timothy available in the UK - I feed blue so not a prob. My delivery is only ever £5 from them.... think it's more if you take a smaller order....
Try Equilage - I have just moved onto it. Much bigger bag than Horsehage and cheaper! Was paying £7.80 for Marksway Horsehage and Equilage is £6.50 and it's as big as a shavings bag!
Horsehage have run out? All our suppliers in Devon seem to have no problem with it :S Bit on the pricey side but thats odd as they all seem to have it down here :/
Maybe try some other suppliers or makes?- I've not heard that there is a shortage of Horsehage, but maybe you've heard first! I know i get my bales of haylage delivered in from the west country/Devon- if you'd like the contact details send me a pm- in fact now i think of it- it comes from Wiltshire actually!
I am really worried we will have a repeat of last year. Horses and cattle in this region went out mid-March, when grass started to grow. I have three fields with good grass which is vanishing fast as we have had only a few light showers in a month and no rain forecast.
Barns are empty because of last year's poor harvest.
I am down to my last round bale of hay which I need for a brood mare and a laminitic.
Thanks for you replies. The HHage we get is from up north somewhere (assume they use farms from all over the country). Anyway they say no more until next crop (June time). Luckily I have managed to find a supply of a Devon equivalent at £6.99 so alls good! oh and supposedly its better quality
Its just a shame that places like countrywide see fit to hike up the price and abuse the situation. (IMO).
