Have put through on empty wash twice now, hair still present??

dont know how you will get it out but I bought an " equine laundry bag" you put it all in there and save all the hairs from going on your machine- google search will bring up the company!! great investment
 
Mine has just given up (we are renting at the mo and it's the landlords machine - yikes!!) have asked OH to pull out machine this evening and see if we can find the filter (not in any obvious place).

Don't know if any of the fluff duster sheets that you can buy might attract the hair too????? any experience of this???
 
If you put an old fleece into the machine (a human fleece not a hairy horsey one) it might collect the hair for you. I put a fleece into the machine on Sunday that was covered in hair and the other fleeces in the machine picked the hair up, but cotton shirts didn't so rather than running empty I'd run it full of fleeces or similar..
 
A fluffy towel sometimes works. I also used to hoover (yes don't laugh) the barrel and especially inside the rubber seal where it all gets stuck - to hide the fact from the ex that I had used it!

Surely then the hair stays on the horsey things though? I like the hair to come off!

I would just scoop it out with my hands .. have you checked your filter recently?

Is it a Hotpoint? They have a huge filter inside the machine which you have to access by removing the top. It is really designed for the service engineers to empty, and is designed only to trap heavy things like rings and coins. The theory is that all the hair goes straight down the drain. Which then blocks. Can you tell I have a Hotpoint?

My OH gave me really hard time after I washed Clydes's fleece and EVERYTHING I washed afterwards was covered in white hair! Eventually found the filter and gave it a good clean- seems to have worked. Have strict instructions to use the local rug cleaner in future!
 
Its an Zanussi. I take it you have experience of this then! I did hoover it first, but apparently not enough!
 
I have a Dyson, which I bought with horse rugs in mind! The trick is to buy the extended warranty - and then extend it again when it runs out! I don't know how many times I've had the engineer out, and it's clear I treat the machine with no respect! Most horse hair ends up in the coin trap, which I have to take off after every couple of rugs and hook it all out. Inside the drum, I just run the palms of my hands round, or some tissue, and that gets most of it out. I then run an empty rinse cycle, and I make sure the next wash I do is something like jeans rather than my husband's work shirts

My trick is a horsey OH - they don't notice.

I also use a velcro brush or fine cat brush with the sharp wires on heavily haired things first
 
Just get OH's son to put his best white top in. Brown hairs definately stick to that. Bad books for ages!!
 
ooooh I have just had this problem, I find that doing a load of towels helps, as the hair doesn't seem to stick to them..can't help with the filter though........ onething that can happen is that the pump can also get clogged with hair, seem to think we took it apart etc and it was fine
 
At least I'm not the only one!
I normally run it through empty once or twice then wipe round the door and inside with a tissue. i have a washer/dryer and once its dried its easier to get out. I've been tempted to hoover it out too

I'm reluctant to use it for horsey stuff again, I might go to the launderette next time
