Hi I can’t seem to find how it works.. I’m looking at a horse who has 60 points split between novice and prelim, I’ve never been affiliated or competed so how does this affect what we can do as a team if I choose to start affiliated classes??

Scroll down to eligibility rules…looks ok for prelim bronze, unless horse has 25+ points at elementary or above.

slightly different eligibility for ”my quest” competitions….

Look at rule book pages 158-175.

Look at the eligibility tables in the rule book. It is online for anyone to see via the BD page. There is a section for you, a section for the horse and then one for the combination. It is a tick.box type thing, if you tick no to everything you can do that level.

You as a combination could start at prelim.bronze. you would only have to do silver if the horse had any Elem points or once the rider has 25 novice points.

I haven't done quest tho so not sure about that. But there is the same type of eligibility tables.

Also you can take out club membership to start with. This allows you to do quest and also prelim bronze. If you wanted to try and qualify for the area festivals or the regionals you would need to become a full member.

Ah thanks don’t want to be excluded from competition due to the combination as I’m novice so wanted a horse that at least enjoyed dressage unlike my current girl

You won't be. That is generally for results at area festivals championships etc. I was just including for completeness
