Well after what seems like ages I've found a new horse and she's just passed the vet with flying colours!! Mind you on paper she was everything I wasn't going to consider and had to be talked in to even going to see her. I'd told myself I didn't want a mare (never had one before), didn't want a green youngster and because I'm tall didn't want anything under 16.2hh - well she's all of these so it just shows that sometimes it pays to be open minded!!! Hopefully she'll be arriving tomorrow, am really looking forward to bringing on this sweet little 4 year old & forming a partnership with her - piccies to follow in due course:D

Congratulations.....how big is she then....

Mares are fab, i didn't want one but ended up with a filly. I find the mares build a strong bond with one person. :D

How exciting! I was exactly the same, wanted between 5-7 gelding, and ended up with a 4yr old mare :D The height wa sthe only thing that was right! Good luck with her, I certainly don't regret my choice :)

She's just a tad over 15.3 but she's a middleweight and actually takes up my leg well - plus she's got a bit more growing to do and will muscle up and fill out so I'm surprisingly not bothered by her size as I'm usually paranoid about looking too big due to my long legs!!!

Congratulations, you must be so excited. The vetting bit is always nerve wracking I think, great that she's flown through it. Shall look forward to the photos!

I agree, I would never have a mare, but have fallen truly madly anddeeply with Horlicks. She can be a grump, but when I'm with her, she never pulls many faces and always has that "I'm content" look on her face! Even the girls on the yard say she is different with me than when with anyone else!!

One day girl, you will have me all to your self... I promise!! xx
