My horse bit me today for the first time!!! I was picking out her feet and she bit my leg, it was only a nip but I told her no and carried on. However, after our ride I was picking her feet out again and went to pick up the first hoof and she bit me again!!! I could not see anything wrong with her hoof, as my first thought was pain but couldn't see anything. Any other thoughts on this?

Was it the same foot each time? This could indicate that she was unhappy weight bearing on the opposite foot - not an uncommon reaction. Is she old? Could she have arthritic changes? You could ask your vet if you could do a bute trial and see if she reacts differently with bute. Are you good at spotting lameness/uneven gait and if not I would suggest asking an experienced person to watch your horse being trotted up on the hard and get a vet out if the horse is lame.
