I think my horse has hayfever. At the beginning of a schooling session he coughs and sneezes a lot and his breathing isn't great. This only seems to happen in the summer and is much better on cold and rainy days.

He wears a nose net but that doesn't seem to make much difference.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? And if so, have you found anything to treat it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like spaopd or copd, first is pasture associated, second is stable associated, so either in for first or out for second. Does your horse live in or out or 50/50. Mine has spaopd so is on starvation strip as he lives out, with nose net and was currently having pollenex but now on spaopd mix with good results. Old pony had copd so was on rubber matting , feeds dampened, hay soaked, and out before yard started to begin their mucking out of stables. Its a matter of trial and error to find out what causing the irritation, i kept my spaopd horse in for two weeks and his breathing went back to normal. Was'nt going to put him through being stabled all spring summer, so tried the strip with for three days then in for one, now hes out all the time as we go into autumn. Hope this helps, and makes sense as
my brain sometimes goes faster than my fingers can type lol.
