I'm interested in measuring my horse's heart rate while riding, but am quite lost as to which brand/model to look at.
I can make neither head nor tail of the Polar one(s?) on their website, and my Google-fu has failed me in finding any useful reviews of them. I can't find their phone app to look at to see what sort of data display they give, or any information about how else to view the data (download to computer? Bluetooth?)
I like the look of the seaver girth sleeve, but again, recent reviews seem sparse and I know there were connectivity difficulties when they first came out, but I'd be interested to see some comparison or discussion of polar vs seaver... or another brand
I know the seaver does the gait analysis and things too, which is nice... but is that worth the extra cost? Is the heart rate from the seaver fairly reliable?

EKW was trialling a seaver a while ago & wrote about it - do a search & the thread should come up.

Yeah I have a Seaver one and it works great. I haven't used it for a while due to the horses I was using it on going on holiday! But once you get the hang of it it is dead easy to use and connect. I had issues connecting it at first as they said it's bluetooth enabled - so I turned on the Bluetooth on my phone. What they fail to mention at any stage unless you actually ask them is that you need the near field communication switched on on your phone too! The app doesn't always tell you when you need to update so it's worth checking the App store every so often to see if they have added an update.

I might charge it up and put on some of my own that are about to come back into work. Compare the heart rate and stride length of a 10.1hh Shetland vs the big tb's!

I've just got a Seaver and would definitely recommend it. They really are bad with sending instructions with it, but I find them so helpful via messenger its been fine.
