Horse & Hound Forum and working!!!

I work from home and spend most of my day sat on my arse on the sofa with the tv on in the background (never follow anything but can't concentrate without background noise) typing away all day.

I am lucky, no need to hide the screen or minimise the window when my boss walks in, but it can be a bit of a distraction :)

Absolutely, I am at work and this is a marvellous distraction! For me it makes a nice occasional break from concentrating, which is refreshing, so no I don't feel too guilty. I look at the forum quite often but don't spend ages on it.

ok i dont feel so guilty :-) i do enjoy reading some of the threads on here make for good entertainment on a boring day, sometimes i just want to chat with people!

On here during lunch hour then check for updates a couple of times during the afternoon. I'd go mad without it tbh the days where I have less to do. If I have lots on I get my work done first, so don't really feel guilty.

im one of those people that needs to feel a bit of pressure to work at my best, so when work is quiet/sow i tend to potter around on here, BD forums etc in the morning then really get down to business after lunch and blast out loads of work-its just how i work best, knowing i have a deadline.

when work is mad busy i try and allow myself just 5 min breaks at a time for a quick peek on the forums and then back to it.

Snap. I am terrible for it. I do it with everything. Christmas shopping waits til the last week with the exception of special gifts that need a bit more planning/notice. Catering something big I always leave prep until the very last minute.

I've just learned that I produce by far my best work when I am up against it :)

Ditto! Except for the tv. I own half the company, so I am responsible for telling myself off!

I am electrospinning today, which is work. I take my laptop for company as it's dull as ditch water, but you don't have time to do anything work related between wiping blobs of polymer off. So I get to search for my next neddy and come on here and still be legitimately doing work :D

Ditto. I once wrote 80 words in 10 hours when I tried to do an essay in advance!

^^^ Yep same here.. Stinking cold..! want to be home in bed, so just trying to get through the day here at work.. HHO always helps me while away the hours.. :)

I can't access the internet at work but then I wouldn't have time anyway. Rarely have time for lunch or even a wee!! (Teacher!!)

When I am fed up of the people I am riding out with and its not teeming dowm with rain then I scoot about on here on my phone. I dont so much in the afternoon as I work on the back yard and dont get a signal round there :-(

As we don't have internet at work I was never on here, until I got a contract phone instead of my old pay & go. So now sometimes when I'm on a 24 hour shift I'm on here a little at work, but not much. I find it really fiddly and restricted on the phone, and I don't have a high data allowance, by choice. It's important I give my attention to my job so I keep so that if I was on here much, I'd soon use up my data.

I know my addictions. ;)
