WHYYYYYYY don't people.....

  • Put the age on their adverts. It just makes me think the horse is either withdrawing his pension or still having a bottle at night. I will not ring you if you do not put an age on your advert!
  • Put the height on the adverts. My 6ft tall boyfriend likes his legs the length they are - I don't want him scraping them along the floor nor do I want to be using a space hopper for my 5ft2 self to get any tack on him.
  • admit that at 13, your horse does not have POTENTIAL to be the next Flint Curtis. Be realistic! He's lovely but you cannot say he's still a baby!
  • tell the truth? I don't care if he has vices, it wouldn't put me off but I just want to KNOW that. I don't want to get there and find that your 'no vices' horse actually wind sucks like a hooker on a Saturday night or has a lump the size of KPs right breast on its hock.

Any more anyone wants to add?

I've just put mine up for sale having read through loads of adverts first and I too noticed that people fail to mention age, height or sex in their adverts, and it just baffles me, its also quite funny how many photos dont resemble the description e.g. a completely different colour horse! I also have a list handy of all of those things I need to mention if someone rings so people get the full picture before they come out as I've been there and got the t-shirt and I still remember the phonecall I made for a riding club horse where the vendor couldnt explain what qualified it as that (been out of racing 2 months and looked like a riding club horse??????)

A price unless it is obvious that it is a POA grand prix horse.

When looking for a horse, all I really need to know on the actual ad is sex, age, colour, height and general use (i.e dressage, can/has jumped) everything else I want to ask in person, EVERYone puts 'no vices' and 'good to box/shoe/load', how often is this true?

It would also be nice if when people do remember to put the horse's height, that they actually put it's real height and not an inaccurate guess/the height they wish he/she was. ;)

ETA.
its also quite funny how many photos dont resemble the description e.g. a completely different colour horse!

If they don't even know what colour their horse is, why should I believe any of the rest of their advert?

A general idea of what area of the country the horse is in is helpful too.

What is "not specified" on SAT NAV?

And contact of only a mobile..my pay as you go has been completely hammered as no landline option. OR they wont accept texts! One seller I couldnt get off the phone on my pay as I go as I heard all about her depression which I had too by the time I got off the phone!

I keep thinking of other animals that I would like to keep other than horses to make my whole life a lot simpler than wasting hours staring at the computer! Sorry rant over!!

Aaaah yes, the 'he's a definite eventer', but when asked to explain WHY they believe that, its because once he pooped out some wood that came from a XC fence....

I'd like people to tell the truth about breeding. Don't tell me it is an ID if it is a 15hh coloured cob!

Or an IDxTB that turns out to be a shire. Didnt have the heart to mention it to the seller as she'd bought him as a two year old but he had feet like dustbin lids, feather to his knees and the biggest roman nose I've ever seen, and the arena shook as we canetered around. He was a lovelly horse, just not the IDxTB I went to see :D
