Horse hunting - help!

Am I missing a trick when it comes to horse hunting? I've been scouring all the sites I normally visit (H&H, Horsemart, Horsequest, FB groups), but all the adverts seem pretty old and anything I'm interested in has sold. I'm not asking super special, so is this just a bad time to buy? Or is there somewhere new that I've just not come across?

I swear that when I wasn't looking to buy (a few months ago) there was loads, and now that I'm ready to start properly looking, there's nothing around! Typical...

Ha! That would help... I'm far too excited to be thinking straight.

I'm based south east but happy to travel.

Looking for a mare, 15.2-16.1, 4-7, don't mind green but want a nice temperament. Plan is to do BE/BD, but don't need a world beater or anything super flashy. Everything seems to be smaller or bigger, but thanks to being tiny with long legs, it rules most of them out!
