Hi Everyone

i don't post very often but i would love to get some HHO ideas!

My first horse may be permanently incapacitated due to an accident. Before the accident i was thinking of replacing him with something a little more whizzy and after some serious thinking i've decided to look for a new horse while i wait to find out if he will be rideable again (if he is then i will bring him back into work and sell him on, if not, then he'll have a home for life with me).

I have a sizeable budget (7k max) and am looking for an allrounder, 15-16.2hh, 6-8 years old, which i can have lots of fun on (xc, sj, dressage, hacking, hunting). It should be sensible, mannerly and uncomplicated and happy living out 24/7. i would like to start with RC and see how i get on. I'm based in Cambridgeshire.

i have hunted through horsemart/H&H/horsedeals but i can't see anything that has really taken my fancy. Can anybody suggest any horses that might be suitable? Or dealers i could try?

(yikes, i wrote an essay)

Thanks!

I will be parting with the AA mare in my sig but only to a very special home.

She's nicely bred on both the Arab side (Crabbet) and the TB side, she's 15hh, rising 8. She was bought by me as a 3yo and has been very carefully broken and brought on, sadly she didn't grow big enough for me but my daughter took her to PC camp within weeks of her being brought back into work (she was broken and turned away over the winter). She then went to the chap who helped us break her as my daughter was then a bit too novice to bring her on.

She has been affiliated BE and won on her dressage score at Intro, she has represented the RC at dressage (got to National finals), SJ and ODE. She has never yet hunted as her rider prefers not to. She is a very pretty girl.

She was turned away again this winter and was due to be out 24/7 but the ground was too poor on our field and she has ended up living in with minimal turnout. She's been fine with that although usually with me she's lived out. I started getting her fit by lunging in the first week of January. She had been ridden four times before Monday when she saw jumps for the second time since October last year and went for a blast round the Hunter Trial at Ely Eventing Centre. She wasn't placed as we wanted her to have a run at Intro speed - so she was 25 seconds too fast. We also ran her HC as it was purely an entertainment for her so we only put her round the 2'3, the last time she was ridden in 2009 was round the 3' course there last October - she was clear then too.

She's a dream to take out - will load and unload multiple times and stand all day on a lorry, she's great with the farrier, she hasn't required to be clipped often but has put up with me trimming her and had a couple of trace clips, she hacks by herself (I'm a very over protective mother and allowed my daughter out on her by herself when the mare hadn't long been broken) and is fine in company and has the sweetest nature going.

All of that is why she will only be going to the right person. Currently it's word of mouth as she is so special and with her looks and attitude she does tend to sell herself. However, if you think she might be for you then feel free to PM me for my number or the number of the chap who is riding her for me, I could also link you to the latest pictures of her playing over jumps.
