I've had him coming up to a year.
He does lunge and he is more willing to go forward but still sluggish.
He doesn't hack as he is terrified of EVERYTHING! We are working on that at the moment. He does love to jump so perhaps that might be an option and see how he gets on.

I can't understand if he is taking advantage why suddenly start now, why not a year ago when I first bought him?

When you say he's terrified of everything - what do you mean? Is he an ex racer? Will he hack out with other horses? What do you normally do to him in an average week?

He is very spooky and nervous of everything he does not know. Once he gets used to things he is ok with them but only if he sees them all the time. He is better if someone walks with us but he gets a bit too excited if he goes with another horse. My daughter is riding a very steady old mare so we are going to try to go out with the pair of them and see how we get on.

I always say he has horse senility as if he doesn't see something for a day or two he forgets that it is not going to eat him.

also yes he is an ex racer and usually each week he works in the school a 3 or 4 times, lunges in a pessoa once, lunges over jumps once plus I try to walk him around the field and round the track a few times for a change.
