I was riding in Friday when Beau tripped, not very badly as he didn't go down at all but managed to jerk my head so that it snapped right back. Four days later and with serious neck ache and all the muscles in my shoulders having spasmed (is that a word?) and gone rock hard I decided to bite the bullet and go to the physio :(

1 hour later and $90 dollars poorer I find out that my neck had gone into hyper-extenison when the Beau tripped which had pushed all the joints betwteen by C1-5 vertebrae out of line, and my neck & shoulder muscles had locked under protest. After some serious massaging, pushing and prodding (its so disconcerting to have a strangers hands round your neck!) and some heat treatment everything is back in place - hopefully!
I have to go back on Sat to make sure everything has stayed in place, only another $90

The physio was quite impressed that I'd managed to screw up my neck that much with out falling off or being in a bad car accident!

The physio also pointed out that my hips are un-level and some other stuff, and unfortunately in terms of riding I think I should have my hips looked at as well as it will impact my riding. Maybe I shouldn't be blaming Beau for being so onesided... :o

Who needs money? :-/ :)

I suppose I should be greatful that my physio is cheaper than the horses ($145 a go!)

Oh yes, def get your hips looked at if you can. My Chiro did wonders for my riding as my pelvis was badly out of alignment & I couldn’t move one of my hips back properly. The difference in the riding & the way the horse went was amazing.

Hope your neck feels better soon, having had a car shunt & done similar you have my sympathy.
Like you say, who needs money!
