If you use other web sites they will all tell you not to touch Equine and Livestock or E & L
I have always used NFU.
Ask you vet they are dealing with companies probably on a daily basis.
NFU for both of mine. They always say that you never know how good your insurance is until you have to use it, and they were excellent when I had to claim twice - once for a "one off" thing and the second for an on-going problem that took a year to come right.
I also use NFU for my two, had to put in a huge claim last year and they were fantastic, paid out very quickly and gave me one less thing to worry about.
I'll get a quote then! I only want to insure to cover vets fees, but is it best to insure over £3000 or £5000? Decisions! And im new to the whole thing..!
Amtrust. They have been great when I have had to claim. Agree with above I was stung badly by another company and learnt a harsh lesson. I wouldn't use anyone else now. They are always polite and caring when you speak to them and they were really lovely when I had to have a very young mate pts. They pay out very quickly too.
NFU as well and would recommend vets fees for £5000 plus make sure you have public liability, tbh the only thing I don't get covered is Loss of Use as it can be notoriously difficult to claim for this with any company, they always seem to find a way out of paying for this one so often a waste of money!!!
I am with Stoneways as had advice on here they were good but I also know several people who are with NFU and swear by them.
My friend got a 2 year old which broke it's leg 2 weeks after arriving which they paid to fix no probs and then when he developed locking stifles the next year they paid out again for another round of surgery and lots of injections into the joint without batting an eyelid.
