Hi

Im looking to change my horse insurance I now have 2 horses to insure instead of 1 and my exsiting insurance isnt very helpful with the first horse,

Any idea or commets on good insurance companies?

My 2 boys are on NFU. I've never had to claim but a few on my yard are with them too and have never said a bad word against them despite many claims for various issues and injuries including colic surgery, tendon operations, ongoing lami and also covering for physiotherapy costs post treatment. :)

Highly recommend KBIS they have been brill when we have had to put a claim in, in the past & they have always paid out within 48hrs :)

Amtrust Equine. Used them for years. They pay out quickly every time and are easy to deal with on the phone. When they receive an invoice they usually pay the vet directly the same day by bank transfer. No silly exclusions either. My new horse had a few little things noted during his vetting which they excluded but now my vet has written a letter stating they've cleared up, Amtrust have lifted the exclusions. And I get no claims discount and a discount for having 2 horses and my trailer with them.

Am with SEIB and have been very impressed with them. My mare recently choked and spent a week in the Dick vets with pneumonia. They paid out within about 2 weeks of getting the claim, they've paid all the fees for the dick vets including any stabling fees that may have been on the bill - I never actually saw a bill from the dick vets, they dealt with everything for me. My premiums haven't gone up at all even tho they paid out well over 2 grand for this and have just been excellent.
They've added an exclusion for any digestive tract thing because she had a mild colic due to dehydration from the choke but are going to review that in a year and if no further colic and a clean vet report then they will cover that again.
